Glen Rosa loop (5 miles)
Start at the Arran Brewery just outside the island's principal town of Brodick. Ample parking is available here and the brewery shop sells all the relevant produce. Take the path signed for Goatfell and enter the woods. At the first path junction, bear left on to the Easceanoch trail which brings us to a wooden footbridge over the Cnocan Burn. Cross a minor road and proceed along the Cnocan Gorge trail, gaining height.
Look out for a junction to the left which brings us on to the Glen Rosa trail proper. We skirt an area of ancient woodland looking down to open moorland on the valley floor. As the forest peters out, we pass through a gate, emerging on the hillside with the Glenrosa Water flowing below. Push on up the glen until reaching a footbridge which takes us across the river.
We now begin to double back on the other side of the water and follow the dirt track down the glen. The surface soon improves and we eventually join the B880. Turn left and then branch on to the A841 (away from Brodick!). Take care until the pavement appears. We pass Arran Aromatics and eventually end up at the entrance to the brewery.
