Seamab Hill (2 miles)
Seamab Hill dominates the skyline in the southern Perthshire village Pool of Muckhart. From the main road, near Mona's Café, take the route signed church & cemetery. The Reservoir Trail starts at the church and information boards are provided. The summit towers above you and following the yellow arrows around the
cemetery and through the community gardens will bring you to the foot of the hill.
The marked path leads upwards through the woodland before switching to open grassy terrain. At this point you come off the Reservoir Trail and follow the narrow track up face of the hill. This leads directly to the summit, where you will find a small cairn. Superb panoramic views can be enjoyed. A less direct (and more forgiving) route can be taken by crossing a cattle grid to your left after exiting the community garden gate. Pop over a tall wooden style after 100 yards and push up through the trees to meet a winding path. A third choice is to batter straight up from the style for a more off-piste experience. This way is also very steep but you can pause for rest in the comfortable springy heather or upon one of the many boulders.
