Glenrothes to Kennoway (8.5 miles)
This stage begins at the centrally located Town Park. Cross the River Leven and follow the markers up to Cadham Road. We pass through residential streets and skirt the Gilvenbank playing fields. More pavement walking follows before the A92 is reached. Cross at the pedestrian lights and go through the gap in the stone wall. This path leads past the Balbirnie stone circle and into the park of the same name.
The trail markers take you through a pleasant wooded area towards the historic town of Markinch. The route passes a couple of notable landmarks and and you leave the town by passing under a high railway arch. The next few miles are decidedly rural, following the course of a burn between the fields. Eventually we branch through the hamlet of Balcurvie and finish up on the A916 at the edge of Kennoway. Proceed uphill for shopping facilities and bus connections back to Glenrothes.
