Loch Fitty to Lochore (6.5 miles)
Start at the Loch View Stables at Loch Fitty just off the B912. A car park is situated here and buses from Dunfermline stop at the Lassodie war memorial. The Pilgrim Way passes through the former opencast site at St Ninians. The man-made hill is an optional climb and it's worth heading up to see the quirky artwork at the summit. Exit the industrial area, cross the B914 and pass into Blairadam Forest. The trail markers are easy to follow throughout this walk.
After a pleasant woodland stroll, we take a farm track below the M90 and emerge into a peaceful rural scene at Keltybridge. The burn marks the Fife boundary and we do stray briefly into the Shire of Kinross. Cut across a couple of residential streets at the bottom of Kelty and pick up the trackbed of an old mineral railway. Fine views of Benarty Hill open up. A short stretch of pavement walking alongside the B996 is required before we enter Lochore Meadows Country Park - reclaimed from the mining industry in the 1970s. Proceed towards Lochore and skirt the shoreline, finishing up at the visitors centre which features an excellent café. Regular buses to Dunfermline serve the main park entrance.
