Carse of Lecropt

Carse of Lecropt (4.5 miles)

Most of this walk takes place in Perthshire but we start in Bridge of Allan on the edge of Stirlingshire. Go down Inverallan Road and follow the curve to pass below the railway and into the Big County. Basically we stay on this single-track road for a complete loop around the flat carse, passing a few farms on the way. There is a treat in store for urban explorers immediately after the M9 flyover. Westleys Farm has been abandoned and there are various buildings to explore, along with a collection of machinery.

Continue in a clockwise direction until we meet the motorway again - this time passing under. The minor road rises to meet the A9 that runs through Bridge of Allan. Simply walk the short distance downhill towards the railway station and town centre.
