Letham Glen (1.1 miles)

Tucked away in the bustling town of Leven, this leafy glen can be accessed from the roundabout where the A915 and A955 meet. Drive through the arched entrance and you emerge in a surprisingly spacious car park. There are toilet facilities here. The walking trail follows the Scoonie Burn upstream, crosses over after half a mile then returns along the opposite bank. There are plenty of old gnarled trees on display. On the way you pass a dovecot and the "sunken garden" - planted in an old outdoor swimming pool.

It's best to walk as far as the northernmost bridge and this route takes you high above the water. A true hidden gem and a welcome change of scenery from the busy roads that run nearby. The glen is suitable for all abilities as there are other bridges over the burn which shorten the walk.
