St Margaret's Marsh (1 mile)

The reclaimed land in this former open water bay sits between the M90 Queensferry Crossing and Rosyth Dockyard. A seawall has been in place since 1943 and the interior is now a reedbed. An access road leads off the B981 near the motorway flyover and there is space for a few cars to pull over. An information board outlines the history of the terrain.

A circuit can be undertaken on purpose-built paths, proceeding along the shore then turning sharp right to double back around the reserve perimeter.  A nice wander with the main north-south transport artery just a long kick of a football away. Popular with dog walkers and birdwatchers.
