Alloa to Cambus (2.2 miles)
Heading westwards out of Alloa on the A907, a road leads left at a roundabout and crosses the railway line. Branch right on to a minor road called The Pavilions which quickly brings you to a school campus. There is ample room to park around here and we pick up the walking & cycling path which continues to Cambus village. We follow the line of the River Forth although grazing land lies between us and the water's edge.
It's a pleasant stroll on a tarmac surface and the terrain is as flat as a pancake, making this a highly accessible walk. The Ochils loom to the right as we work our way towards Cambus. The path leads right into the village and The Tearoom is a recommend refreshment point. Proceeding a little further brings us to the River Devon which flows into the Forth. You may wish to cross over and walk another half mile down to the Cambus Pools Nature Reserve. Otherwise return to the starting point by the reverse route, which can be slightly varied by passing through an area of woodland which is obvious from the path.
