Red Squirrel Trail (1.3 miles)
Devilla Forest is a large pine plantation in West Fife, popular with dog walkers, cyclists and people out for a ramble. The Forestry Commission actively encourage visitors and a large car park has been provided just off the A985 between Cairneyhill and Kincardine. An extensive network of paths exists in the woodland but only one is officially waymarked - a short loop around Loch Bordie known as the Red Squirrel Trail.

The trail is relatively flat and well surfaced, with a boardwalk carrying you over marshy land. The beginning is adjacent to the car park. We loop around the small Bordie Loch, allegedly the site of a battle between the Scots and Danes in 1038. Information boards furnish you with local history and a few myths and legends. Benches and picnic tables are placed around the loch making this an ideal short walk for families and people of all abilities. For those looking to strech their legs a little more, a linking path will bring you to Keir Dam, as seen in the map below.
