North Berwick Law (1 mile)

This volcanic lump stands just over 600 feet tall but offers superb views over the Firth of Forth. A spacious car park is situated at the bottom and it's less than a mile to walk to this point from the railway station or the High Street. The route to the summit  winds its way round the slopes and is fairly obvious to follow. Small signs are placed at regular intervals.

A synthetic whale jawbone marks the pinnacle and there is also a trig point and viewfinder. The Bass Rock - home to a massive gannet colony - is easy to spot and further out, towards Fife, lies the Isle of May. Take some time to appreciate these remarkable sea views and also the inland vista of the Lothians, before making your way back down. North Berwick town centre has excellent facilities.
