Den of Alyth (1.5 miles)
Alyth is a small Perthshire town and the signed Den car park lies 1200 yards from the centre. There is no map or information board but the route is a simple loop up and down the titular burn. Pick up the path in the middle of the parking area. It heads left and curves downwards to the water, skirting the end of a sports field before doubling back upstream. Ignore the first bridge and continue walking with the burn on your left.
Another bridge appears but carry straight on along the bank. When you reach a stone-arched crossing, switch to the opposite side and make your way back. Take the second bridge back to the same side of the burn as the car park. Complete the figure of eight by bearing left up to the starting point.
