Torryburn Loop (1.5 miles)

Torryburn is a quiet coastal village in West Fife. The settlement is clustered around Torry Bay where a small car park is available. Turn right and walk along the main road for a short distance until you reach a historic church. Explore the attached graveyard if you wish. Cross the burn and double back along a tree-lined private road. This leads into the grounds of the former Craigflower Estate and you will soon spot the big house, now divided into apartments. Look for a core path branching into the old garden area on your left. This winds its way through the vegetation and you come close to the stone boundary wall. Ignore the first opening and press on until you reach the far corner of the compound - exiting through another gap in the wall.

You have emerged on the Fife Coastal Path. If you climb the hill you will soon encounter a ruined church with old gravestones. Otherwise follow the tarmac path around the obvious outline of the bay. This brings you back to your starting point. Unfortunately there are no places to eat in the village. The charming atmosphere of Culross awaits a couple of miles along the coast.
