Cockburn's Reservoir (2 miles)
The starting point for this walk is Pendreich Car Park on Sherrifmuir Road, near Bridge of Allan. Please note that this area gets very busy at weekends during the warmer months as walkers flock to the slopes of Dumyat - one of the most accessible local hills. Head out of the car park following the path signed for Whitehill. This basically parallels the road for around a quarter of a mile. We then emerge at the tarmac and take the route heading left through a metal gate. More parking space is available around here and the Dumyat day trippers depart in the opposite direction.
The reservoir soon comes into sight and it's a fairly obvious circular route to follow. At the far end, you have the option of walking along the retaining wall (perfectly safe) or dipping down on the path. Make your way back to the starting point and you might even think about tackling Dumyat while you're at it! An interesting option is to call in at Old Logie Kirk, located further down the minor single track road which branches off Sherrifmuir Road just north of Pendreich Car Park.
The graveyard has a stunning selction of spooky old stones and a few parking spaces are available adjacent to the church. This route brings you out at the Hillfoots Road (A91) near Menstrie and you pass the modern Logie Kirk on the way.
