Campbeltown ramble (4 miles)
From the centre of Cambeltown, head along Witchburn Road (B842) and then take a left along Tormaig Road. The houses peter out and we pass an old cemetery. At the next sharp bend (to the right) walk straight on along a farm track. Follow this road past Crosshill Loch and we then begin the Beinn Ghuilean trail.
The path climbs sharply but reaching the summit of the hill is difficult as there is no marked route and the going is steep and difficult. A more practical option is to go no further than the bench which sits at the high point of the constructed route. Brilliant views can still be enjoyed towards the sea. This is a circular route and the path network will take you back into the town.
