Walking With Brian
I started this site to keep a pictorial log of my walks. Hopefully others will be inspired to try some of the routes. They are mainly low level with a few moderate hills here and there. I don't claim to be a mountaineer!
Some outings touch on urban exploration but any activities described are largely on safe ground in terms of access and personal risk. Wherever a walk features a potential hazard, I have endeavoured to highlight this.
It is my intention to include a basic map of each route. This is for indicative purposes only and you should of course perform your own research before heading out on any expedition.
The walks are described as a set of route instructions to follow. I will use my blog page on the site to provide more personal accounts of my adventures and other lifestyle activities.
Distances shown for circular routes need no further clarification. Regarding linear walks, the mileage given will reflect my own experience of the trail. If public transport was taken back to starting point, I shall make that fact clear in the report.
Fife trails and those in surrounding counties are grouped by historic boundaries. Therefore Airth appears as a Stirlingshire location rather than the modern Falkirk Council Area. Further afield, I have used catch-all terms such as "The Borders"
I often combine a walk with a visit to a pub, museum, historical landmark etc. Links to my places of interest will be provided wherever possible. Opening times and admission prices are of course subject to fluctuation.
Please remember that public transport routes and frequencies change over time. Don't simply rely on a service because I have mentioned it in a walk report. Traveline Scotland will keep you right.

I can honestly say walking is one of the most fulfilling interests I've ever had. Get out there and enjoy the beautiful outdoors!
